How did you use media technologies in the contruction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

A media technology I had used to construct my music video was final cut express. I found that this programme was very useful in the making of my video as there are many tools included to make it much easier to create. I had used final cut express before and so I found it quite familiar in some

aspects but I did have to refresh my memory on how to use certain tools but this was a quick process. Final cut express allowed me to create effects such as black and white over any scene that I wanted. I was successful in this as I placed this effect on the flash backs that are portrayed in my video. The programme was also easy to cut scenes out that was not needed to make the video suitable to the time limit which was set for us. Furthermore, I was able to show my work to others from this programme and get feedback so I can improve on it and develop it further.

Another media technology used to construct my digipak and also my magazine advert was Photoshop. Again I had used this programme before so it was familiar to me, however there were certain tools I had forgotten how to use. One tool that I had found the most useful was the 'free transform' tool and the 'quick selection tool'. These made it very easy for me to cut out an image that I wanted to use and then to move it around and adjust it to the position or size I desired. Furthermore, through Photoshop I could add effects onto my digipak and advert such as a black and white tone on the image of myself on the cover. 

Blogger allowed me to make various posts throughout the year to track my progress and other tasks that needed doing. It was very useful as I could go back onto posts from last year to use again for other work such as my evaluation. It was also a very easy and useful way to communicate in order to set a date on when to collect equipment that was needed when filming. Problems came with blogger as it does with most programmes and so I had to improvise and use word for example to type up my post and then update it on my blog when it was working again. 

A further media technology I used was Youtube. This was used a lot in the research and planning process of my music video. Youtube allowed me to look at videos and get ideas for my own, it also allowed me to place a link on my blog so that it was easy to see what video I was talking about. This allowed me to also see the conventions of an r&b video such as rihanna's take a bow and incorporate them into my own.
